INTERVIEW TIP: DRESS FOR SUCCESS
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The way you dress has an effect on an interviewer's initial impression of you. Do your best to learn about the culture of the organization where you are interviewing, in order to determine the appropriate dress style. While some employers expect job candidates to dress formally for an interview, many do not. Following are some general guidelines for dressing for an interview in a formal/corporate culture:
Women
Suit or tailored dress.
Basic dark shoes with medium or low heels.
Nails subtle if polished, clean and not clipped.
Simple and basic jewelry.
Men
Navy, charcoal gray or other subtle colored suite.
Shined shoes.
Clean hands and nails.
Solid or conservative design tie, simple and neat
Avoid flashy cuff links, rings or neck chains.
Both Women and Men
No smoking or chewing gum
Briefcase or a professional looking notebook (with your questions for the employer).
